3 Noob Questions abou connecting Potentiometers

#1

Hello

Firstly: Should I expect to see the display dial integers moving independently when my pot is connected?
I turn the pot and it causes the patcher/display object to turn with some jittery after effect. Without turning the display object fluctuates independently after the decimal place.

I use the patch in the Getting Started Book (I am a newbie to this). All my pots are B10k Alpha pots.

Secondly: When connecting multiple pots to the board, do I connect to ground and VDDA for each pot (I have only used one pot)

I read that VDDA gives the best return for use with pots. Does it really matter if I use VDDC instead.

Thirdly: How do I connect multiple pots as there are only 2 VDDC and 2 VDDA?

Sorry that these are basic questions but....that is where I am at with this! I have looked through the boards here and the books and YouTube but cannot see the answer.

Many thanks!

  1. There can be some noise on potentiometers. You might be able to reduce it by adding a capacitor between GND and your analog input. More info in this topic: https://sebiik.github.io/community.axoloti.com.backup/t/noisy-analogue-input/1124/4

2/3. You can connect a single VDDA to multiple potentiometers by connecting them together. Same with the GND. The first potentiometer will be connected to the VDDA on the board. The second potentiomter will be connected to the first one, and so on for the rest of them.

Thanks. that is helpful. I will take a look there.
