Where to buy a Axoloti Core / Out of stock

#150

I think it definately makes sense to have one jack for both. How does other hardware like the volcas do it? there its also hp/main out on one jack...

You are in a way right about this, but non nerds are intimidated by bare boards. They want the thing at least in an enclosure and/or knobs buttons already included. This is something to keep in mind when designing extensions maybe

Ah ha! Volca is a great example. That is exactly what we want. I think I might have one lying around somewhere. I'll try to take a look to see if I can figure out what their approach is and what kind of performance they're getting out of the single output. There are going to be many possible ways to achieve that kind of result. We're pretty much stuck with our ADAU codec for now so I'm going to try to figure out the simplest way to do it with what the codec provides and minimal extra hardware.

@Sonoptik I have a complete layout and BOM of a prototype design for this that I did a year ago or so, so I'm not starting from scratch. I need to incorporate some of the things we're talking about and make sure everything is current. I'm busy with another project but I going to try to fit it in in the next couple weekends or so.

A bare board should be as bare as possible, then simple Axoshields could be added to break out extra functions with the official IO for those who don't want to solder.
For example, how simple could a shield be just for adding Audio in out and head phones and still be very portable.

Speaking as a non-nerd, (or more correctly, a nerd with no electronics skills!) I'd like things as simple as possible. My axoloti build approach was: stick it in a box and plug in some midi controllers. The thought of even having to solder some midi sockets on begins to put me off, though would be doable. So the more 'ready for use' it is initially, the more it appeals to me.

But I realise I'm probably in the minority as most seem to be making amazing hardware with it, and I can see the appeal of a cut down version for that. I guess I just want more of the same, so hopefully Johannes will be in stock again...

#154

I love axoloti the way it is now; the Arduino approach to digital music instruments and sound manipulation. Absolutely does the job for me at the moment. Especially the possibility to easily make inputs for pretty much every signal from knobs, switches, sensors and controllers. An update of the hardware would be nice for now. In the future I might desire a more powerful axoloti with more I/O.

Other than that, I hoped new boards would be in stock by now. I'm leaving next week to Jakarta and had promised to bring one to the art collective Forum Lenteng. A bit disappointing I won't be able to get it now, especially since I live around the corner from Johannes. Maybe next time in Ghent?

Hey, guys,
I do NOT want to annoy , but you should create a new thread to discuss these issues that you deal with in this thread...Otherwise this will end up being a spaghetti of information...

Thank's

Heya! Was hoping to purchase the core for my brother's birthday but it seems it's out of stock. @johannes any chance you might have one for sale? Cheers!

#158

I hesitated and missed out on the last axoloti last week, any idea when this will be back in stock @johannes ?

Thank you

#159

they come and go every week basically, as other people suspected i think johannes does some kind of quality check on every sub-batch he puts on the shop. just check back every other day.

#160

whoops, sorry... I bought that last one. lol

#161

While historians have classically written of many a Gold Rush, I foresee a new chapter describing a new kind of gold, and the relentless effort mankind had to endure of trawling the forums of the early 20th century for a glint, just a glint mind you, of the elusive Axoloti.

#162

j'accuse mon petite fromage!!!

On the one hand I am glad they are selling well, on the other hand I hate you...

#163

@alanennis if you have some patience and you don't need it right away, you should probably wait for the new one that is being developed, which is more powerful than the original one.

#164

Hi there! I'm another new guy waiting for my Axoloti core  . I'm currently working on a sound/light installation and it's just the perfect thing I need for it... I understand very well that the only thing to do is wait and check regularly, but I've just another question to you guys: is there a way to "order" it, I mean like make a reservation? Or suscribe to a list? Thanks a lot for your answers!

#165

Nope! Sorry :s you just have to keep checking back

#166

Ok, no problem! Thanks for the answer...

#167

@jaffasplaffa thanks for that..... good to see a new version coming out, I think the best thing would be to just buy both!

#168

You're in luck.

I see there is now a new batch of 47 units of Axoloti core board to sell

I for my part, this weekend I will return to make a new batch of enclosures for
send them to AMAZON warehouses for distribution..

Wooden case for Axoloti Core

Acrylic enclosure for Axoloti Core

eBay sales

#169

Yeah, like you said i'm in luck!
I just bought 2 of them this morning...
Nice tips the enclosures, but i love to do it myself.
Thanks for the message!
