Where to buy a Axoloti Core / Out of stock

#1

Hi, i just heard about the Axoloti today but could not figure out where to buy one. Any link or info is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

MOD NOTE by @thetechnobear
we often get topics, asking about stock availability, so rather than new topics, ...lets keep them here
so post here if you want more info...

please also bare in mind:

  • why out of stock? - often because Johannes is waiting for components to arrive, and they have had a longer lead time than expected, so stock is runs out before replenishment.
  • when will more be available? you can ping @johannes via PM to ask, or post via twitter/facebooks (see axoloti.com) , however, be aware sometimes the parts supplier have not given a guaranteed date, so rather than 'speculate' its better to just wait until its known for sure.
... also bare in mind, Johannes is doing all the support, ordering , assembly, posting - so its best to be patient.

@johannes

What will the price of an Axoloti be in the shop? Will the shop be located in this forum?

#5

The webshop is open now, feedback is welcome before I announce this elsewhere...

Well I've just bought two more
it all worked fine, maybe just specify that the price first announced is excluding VAT (but I did notice that as soon as you specify your country, it adds the VAT automatically)
Maybe a reduced price for bulk buying (I nearly went mad and bought 5).
I know some people that are now getting custom noise boxes for Xmas

#7

Bought one more Axoloti core without any flaws. Everything works fine. Thanks Johannes.

Oh and I wanted to say Bravo for selling them at such a reasonable price. I'm really excited about Axoloti and it's future, I really hope a whole lot of new people join the wagon and expand on the concept.
Well done Johannes, I know someone who won't get much time off before Xmas (I hope you have some helpful little workers with green hats to allow you to sleep from time to time)

#9

Ordered two for xmas holidays. Enough time to get all the facts together and start coding. Yeah.

@johannes

How is The Stock supplies? You sell til you dont have anymore boards? Or you Will keep making more axolotis for sale?

Price is almost redicoulous low 😄 Going to get myself one for Christmas present

#11

Stock quantity will be adjusted regularly so the time between ordering and shipping out stays short.

#12

Awesome news 😄 My goal is to make a 16 part "multitimbral" synth.... so still need 14 😄

#13

Shop seems to work fine. Just ordered two more boards so I can create more nifty instruments.

#14

They're too cheap!

A) You're a genius and you deserve to sleep on a pile of money.
B) I'll end up buying more.

Hello Johannes, I love the product! I just bought two cores! You asked for feedback, so I wanted to let you know that the order form doesn't ask for the state (province) if you select United States. I included my full address in the comments, but you might not be able to ship another package to the US if they don't include the state. You can infer it from the zip-code, however, so maybe it's alright.

Regardless, top notch system integration.

BPost does not have a state/province field in their shipping label creation backend. But it's all right, tracking has shown that parcels dispatch to different sorting centers in the US from Belgium, depending on the zipcode.

I remember that the axoloti sold during kickstarter was
16bit / 48kHz but now on the product specs I read 24 bit / 96kHz

is this an upgrade or am I wrong?

Thanks!

Axoloti Core is using a 24/96 capable audio converter at 24/48, it is not an upgrade. The only reason 24/96 is not exposed as an option is that it takes quite some work on the editor, firmware and objects to allow multiple sample rates, and patches may not sound the same at different sample rates.
So it says "24bit/96kHz capable stereo audio ADC/DAC", technically correct for the hardware spec, but maybe misleading. I added "(editor and firmware currently only supports 24bit/48kHz)" to it.

In my experience most 24/96kHz capable ADC/DAC's sound good at lower sample rates too.

awesome! ordered a couple more. can't get enough of this thing.

My Axoloti-cores arrived today. Great quality and both worked just fine after a initial firmware update. Thanks a lot.
