Some Generative Ambient/Relaxational Sounds
several people have ask me for the patch. here it comes:
table seqeuncing slow.axp (29.6 KB)
first of all sorry for the chaos. but i was still changing things on it around...
it has 4 voices playing (4 oscillators). for each of the 4 voices a random number sequence is recorded into a table (the range and spread can be changed). the recording is triggered by lfo. after recording the sequence is repeated untill the next trigger. a new random sequence is played into the table. sometimes only part of the old sequence is overwritten. the numbers coming out of the tables are then quantized to the scale i want.
Overwhelming Possibilities
and here is another one with only 2 voices. its easier to hear how repetition and variation work together.
its amazing actually that some fairly plausible melodies are generated.
Generative Ambient Music-Arpeggios and Melodies generated based on simple Chord Progressions micro tuned to "circle of 5th". Nothing sounds better than a pure fith interval to my ears anyway
Thanks for sharing. I've installed the .exp file on my axoloti (with axocontrol) but I'm getting no sound. Should it execute automatically or do I need to do something to get it running?
... can't even open in the patch window...... I'll try on another computer this evening.... Thanks MoutCast, the patch sounds great, can't wait to have a look at it to mod it for midi rather than audio and test it!
sorry for the late answer. do you have upgraded to 2.0 i hear some people have problems with some of the objects after upgrades. it looks like the uploaded file has been used previously by some people. did you manage in the meantime?
Hi Moutcast,
I'll check about the 2.0
I didn't manage to find some time to check on another pc yet. Hope to get some free time this week to do so.
i'll then let you know
Thanks!
Hi Moutcast,
Finaly, Patcher doesn't work anymore on my other pc with the board. updated to 2.0 and I still have errors while launching.
I finaly spend more time trying to make the patcher work properly everytime I get on pc and switch the Axoloti board, than everything else...
Got tired about his a few months ago, and getting now tired again about this. Loss of time.
I'll let you know next time I can spend 2 more hours trying to make this thing work properly at first.
ok,
Everything is back to normal.
But Moutcast, I'm sorry, your patch loads a new patcher, then nothing...
Have you tried it lately on 1.0?
Best Regards,
Ced.
I just loaded the patch with -
Axoloti version : 1.0.12-2-0-g7975cc87
Firmware version: 1.0.0.1
It plays perfectly, and sounds very nice.
Cedrick, no offense intended - do you have any experience using Axoloti? Can you get any patch to run correctly?
You wrote that it loads a new patcher, then nothing. Did you click on the Live box in the patch window?
i did not upgrade to 2.0 yet. kind of slow for those things and it looks like it might save me some time. i am playing everything on 1.0. for the moment
oh actually i remember this happened to me before. try loading the patch into the axo patch folder first and open the patch with the same instance of the patcher as usuall.
you might have clicked on the patch from wherever you stored it and a new instance of opens.
hmmm. sorry for the super delayed answer. i would have to look into it. try to turn some of the knobs. my gpio layout is terrible and definitly differrent than on the axocontroll. if there is only a filter or a volume or something on zero it wont play....music.
Tele_Player,
No offence
I've already used the board for tests with patches I've modified.
The point is I've got the same versions as you have, but when I launch the axp file I've put to be accessible from file/library/home/ it loads as a blank window only visible as a thumbnail from the task bar... Guess what.... right click on it, select maximize and it appears complete.... no more blank window....
I really feel silly having troubles with this simple problem as I've battled few days to downgrade properly the board this months to make it work again.....
Sooo.... Works nicely, you're right Tele_Player Love it Moutcast.
I have now to work this out to try to get the same result with midi signals rather than audio, with the ability to twik lfo sustain and few other things to the midi signals live
Thanks for your help guys
this is a well known problem on osx (at least for me) patches that were saved maximized will open up minimized in a corner. it is bottom left corner for me
