I think it would be a good idea to have the launcher be able to check for updates for its own firmware, and download and install them itself. A lot of softwares do this, and it would alleviate future "Help me update" topics when the axoloti is released.

but yes, in time it would be useful for us to detect new versions of Axoloti software to download from github.
like everything its a matter of time...
we also have to be a bit careful, as we don't want to break existing patches... but thats another topic.

i must be doing something wrong then, my firmware has not updated past 1.0.0.1, and to my knowledge the current firmware is 1.0.3? I downloaded the runtime again and reinstalled it, and the axoloti launcher as well, but when i click "Flash" after its connected it just says the axoloti is running firmware version 1.0.0.1

The firmware version is 1.0.0.1 in the 1.0.3 software release if I recall correctly.
Don't worry, you'd get a warning when firmware does not match software version.
Auto-downloading and installing software updates is pain.
I think much easier and nearer in future is an "update available notification".

ooh ok thanks i was worried for a moment. Im always suspicious things arent working the way they are supposed to, because i ahve a windows computer i have dedicated to axoloti/music stuff that runs windows vista, and that is the worst windows OS since ME lol.
