Running the software without the board

I just installed the your software on linux to see how it works before I buy an Axoliti, but I can't get any sound out of it, do I need to have a board connected in order to do so?

Yes, the software is only used to program the axoloti core board.

The software programs (and can control - as midi interface) the board.

You can build and compile patches, but ALL sound is generated by the axoloti core.

While an emulator integrated into the patcher might be nice, it would be a lot of work for a fairly limited practical use. The patcher isn't meant to be a standalone piece of software, it's only supposed to be of use to people with an Axoloti board.
