Would it work to power the axoloti via the USB port (not mini USB with 5.0V, 2A), have midi input on both the midi in and the mini usb, and have some hosts consuming 5.0V (and up to 1,5A?)
And another question: am I right, one cannot only cut the board but also reconnect the two parts by wiring JP2 and 3?!

The USB Host port is current limited to 500mA continuous current output
The (micro) USB device port is current limited to 1000mA continuous current input
You can't supply power to the USB Host port.
And yes, you can cut the board and rewire JP2/JP3.
