Playing with 3 axoloti's

#1

I've done a few videos of 3 axoloti's connected together without midi or a computer. The patches aren't very good, it was mainly to test the concept (that seems to work very well).
So my next box will be like the yellow one again, most pots are doubled by stereo jack inputs (auto switch). So they can be patched together, or with small sensor modules (a light sensor on a stereo jack, kind of thing).

In this video, all the audio is chained one into the other. The sound is only limited (compressed), no other external effects.

very inspiring... this is kind of where I want to get to.... standalone boxes, twiddling knobs

btw, for me, there appears to be an issue with the video/audio after 6mins... at around 6:00 the video freezes, and if I fast forward I can see more video but there is no audio. possibly a youtube upload issue?!

oh, thanks, didn't see that video bug, but it sure is there. I'm uploading it again (but with my very bad internet connection, it may take a few days ) This is the second time Youtube has done this with one of my videos, I don't know why really.
While I wait, back to patching

#4

Nice  plenty of variation and so interesting to listen!, shame that audio cut... was growing and evolving.

#5

Really sorry about the bug, my second upload has just finished and done the same thing (even worse).
So it will have to wait till I go into town some day with a real internet connection.
Sorry about that

#6

what do you mean by this, is it possible to connect more than 16 pots?

#7

No, not more than 16.
I have just put a stereo Jack socket in between the pot and the GPIO. As they have a switch inside them, as soon as I plug something into the socket, it cuts the pot circuit. So it's either the pot (nothing plugged in) or whatever I plug into the socket

#8

aah ok, but thats kinda clever, could you connect like cv outputs or audio into those inputs?

#9

For the moment, I'm just connecting Axoloti's together. That way I'm sure they are compatible and I don't need to do any voltage transformation.

#10

Ok, I've at last been able to upload a new version. So the first video is now complete
I've also published a second video using the same 3 axoloti boxes :
