Patch Won't Go Live

#14

Where did you install the toolchain?

Are there any Windows users who can figure this out?

#15

I installed it in c:/program files if memory serves.

#16

To be precise I installed the toolkit in "C:\Program Files (x86)".

I never had this installed when my Axoloti used to work however, would maybe uninstalling everything and searching for any registry keys associated with Axoloti to get a complete clean slate help?

Thanks to everyone who's offered help so far and apologies for my persistence, I would just like to get my Axoloti working again if possible!

#17

well your axoloti was working with the version 1, and now you are trying to install version 2. i for one would opt to remove axoloti version 2 and install the old "known to work" axoloti version 1. it will be easier for you to find help on that one.

#18

I've gone back to version 1.0.12-2, however when I run Axoloti it says there is a firmware mismatch and when I say to flash the new firmware it seems to get stuck.

FYI, I did update the firmware when I installed version 2, should it be possible for me to downgrade the firmware?

#19

if i remember correctly you either have to downgrade from axoloti 2 (there should be an option to downgrade to 1.0.12) or do it via dfu mode, i think that could also work.
so, downgrading via ver.1 editor is not possible.

#21

Thanks, I'll try this when I get home from work.

#22

I've flashed firmware version 1.0.0.1 onto my board and reinstalled that version of Axoloti.

However I still have the same issue I used to have when I click the live button and it just unchecks itself and the patcher stays the same colour, I've included the messages from the log screen below.

can you try and startup with s2 pressed? that should prevent any startup patches to run. i had a couple of weird errors when a bogus startup patch was on the axoloti.

#24

Sorry to continue to be annoying here, but can you say where the s2 button is?

Was just looking and can’t seem to locate it.

#25

There are 2 small buttons next to the MIDI ports, they are labeled on the bottom of the board.

#26

Thanks for clarifying, I've tried starting up with s2 pressed repeatedly now and unfortunately I am still having the same issue. I am holding s2 prior to powering up the board as the user guide states to so I assume I am doing this correctly.

Has anyone got any more ideas?

#27

can you program a simple patch that just outputs a tone and test if it runs on the board?

maybe just the patcher side is broken

#28

I've been using the first tutorial patch in the library which just outputs a sine tone to test it previously.

If memory serves it always that patch always used to output sound for me before I had this issue.

#29

Anyone else got any ideas here?

#30

Just bumping this thread, my Axoloti is still gathering dust on my desk so would be great to find a solution!

#31

Do you have another computer to try it on, might seem like an odd suggestion and probably a long shot, but a long while ago when I first started to use Axo, I was running the patcher on two different versions of OSX, and couldn't connect at all on my music machine, and went through all of the suggestions for pressing S2 and putting it into DFU mode, the issue was solved when I used my day to day computer with a different os and managed to get it into DFU mode, then I did a clean install on the mac that wouldn't connect.....

Like I say a long shot also (I'm sure you may have already done this) different usb cable, the micro usb is fraught with connection problems, I use a magnetic cable now so that I'm not constantly plugging and unplugging the micro usb connector

#32

yeah especially with going back and forth with the complicated 2.0 install i would definitely recommend to try the board on a different computer with a fresh axoloti 1 install. easiest way to trouble shoot whether its the board or the software.

#33

Thanks, I’ll try taking it into work or using my girlfriends laptop and see if I have any luck with that.
