Open conections for sensors on enclosure

#1

Hello,

I am preparing some enclosures for my axoloties and I thougth that could be a good idea leave free some pines in order to use different sensors depending my set.

So, I will solder some knobs but I will leave P0, P1, P2 & P3 not conected bringing some kind of removable socket outside on the enclosure. Would you recomend some conector for this purpose. I was thinking banana but maybe there are other better options.

Thanks for your help

a switching jack could be a good option, you can then ground the input if you don't use it. if the input is floating you will get random readings which might not be what you want

Thanks lokki. I didn´t know about this. So, if I have some cables soldered to some GPIO and I don´t connect nothing to then, it could be a problem even if I dont connect then in my patch to any source? I am not familiar with switching jacks. I will research a bit more about them.

sorry i assumed a bit too much it seems
if the GPIO is not connected in the patch when you don't use it, then you don't need to ground it, it should also not affect the other GPIO readings.

i thought you wanted a patch with all GPIOs connected and then attach only the ones you need for a particular performance.
