Midi Effects Objects for Axoloti

#1

I'm relatively new to exploring Midi effects. I saw the video below and was particularly inspired to check out what is possible to achieve with Axoloti. I am wondering what your favourite midi processing/effects Axoloti objects are? My interest is specifically in objects for creating dynamic chords, progressions, arpeggiators, and probability (brownian, euclidean etc.)

I'm also really interested in that! I'm actually working on a multi midi effect with Axoloti.
i'm pretty new to the patcher and learnt my way through it mainly with this project.
As of now, my patch is mainly a delay based on the midi delay from the Yamaha TX81Z with added CC modulation output, randomization of velocity and note, bend effect and octave trabspose.

It fits my need at the moment, but i'm really interested in adding more capabilities such as descrobed in the video you posted.

I got into MAX back before it added MSP to do audio (version 3 or so) and it ws all about this. Making all kinds of MIDI filters/transposers/changers with all the options you would ever need is easy with MAX. Not cheap of course, as any powerful software is, but well worth it.

puredata my friends...free and open source

A great alternative. A not as pretty as MAX but will do the same. LOTS of free stuff out there made by users too, just like MAX, but because it is often used in education because it is free, there is a a bit more sites devoted to it.

Ok, software-wise, I agree with both of you. But the point about doing these kind of things with the Axoloti is that it is a self sustained system that does not need any computer and can be easily converted into a standalone effect box.

I can only speak for myself, but the main reason I love the Axoloti is that it is a standalone box that can shapeshift and adapt to each of my different project, from audio effect to midi effect to synth to sampler etc…

Absolutely agree, Max and PD are great, but not super relevant to this discussion.

I've been combing through the Community Library trying to identify objects that would be useful for Midi effects. Really curious to hear what other objects folks use for this purpose. Here is what I've found so far:

cpwitz/midi: arpeggiator, paraphonic

jaffa/midi: Make Note

rbrt/midi/in: Monitor, keyb zone i, table store FULL, table toggle, table send note, table send vel

sss/midi: CC Zoom, Arpmidi, arpeggio, arepeggio2, clkIn, clkout, midichordIN, midichordOUT, rndmidinotes
