Looking for cheap midi controller with presets change

#1

Hi guys, this week I'm going to receive my Axoloti.
I read the USB Midi Controllers discussion to find a controller that permit to change presets like Ableton Push but I have small budget. Any suggestion is welcome (I have a Virus TI Polar, iPad 3rd if could help).
Thanks a lot.

With a midi interface the iPad and touchOSC you could do basically anything. Not sure which interface would be best to use with the iPad tho.
I am using a laptop in between these.
I think the novation zero SL will also allow you to send program change messages to the axoloti.
I have been using it to prototype some patches whilst I am building a custom set of controls to use with my board.

I added explicit support for the Virus TI ... I enjoy using its 'Remote' mode, which allows you to assign CCs to all the knobs. unfortunately not the buttons though.

I dont know if you have used this before? if not, basically configure it using the VST which connected to a computer, then the Virus will save it, so when you connect the Virus directly to Axoloti, your good to go
(theres some info in the manual, or virus forum iirc.)

and as MrBim says an iPad with a camera connection kit will also work.
quite a few tools out there, I'm sure some free ones... my favourite, but very deep is Lemur.

the only thing, without coding, your going to be limited on is 'user feedback', as you can don't have a LCD screen to give info back, this is fine for faders/knobs etc, but if you start wanting to do things like change patches...

something fun, some of the launchpad type devices are also small budget... and might be able to provides some feedback.

and of course, in the future, axoloti control

Maybe a Novation launch control xl?

Good idea, thanks. But have you any chance to try it? If yes, can you change presets? My target is to have a controller for my live set and change presets should be easy and quick.
