Some weeks ago we (me and some friends with axoloti's) decided to create an IRC-hangout on the Freenode network.
For now we call it the Unofficial channel because there is no 'OK' from @johannes on this.
So for those that want to talk axoloti and synths in a nice chatroom point your clients to #axoloti on irc.freenode.net

There is also chat.axoloti.com - redirecting to axoloti.slack.com. It has not been linked or used recently.
I don't plan to join IRC, but I'm completely fine with the existence of an unofficial channel.
I hope common problems and solutions discussed on chat make it to this community forum, so others can search, read, comment.
I don't use slack, nor do I plan to.

The IRC is meant more for general chat and quick help.
Of course the forums are the main source of help and info.
Because freenode has been taken over by a hostile entity ("crown prince of korea") we have moved the chat to the new https://libera.chat
