I think I fried something

#1

screenshot says it all... 0.10V / 0.07V
I tried to connect a powerbank intenally to the axo +5/GND as discussed in this post.

When I was actually installing the powerbank, I accidentily flipped the on/off switch while also touching some connections or I made a mistake in wiring, unsure, everything seems to be connected ok.

There was no other power source connected at the moment of the accident...

I removed the batteries, but the powerbank can be seen in the picture, the 5V and GND were connected to the axo 5V and GND. Is this wrong?

I used this powerbank

this (youtube) was my axo in action just before the battery surgery that went wrong...
can this be fixed?
I'm hoping it's a fried fuse or something
I did smell something burned while installing, but not a lot, very very faint, and it was gone before I disconnected everything..

If you had touched one of axolotis gpio pins with 5V you would definately fry the whole board. Happened to one of my boards unfortunately :frowning:

The boot up LED sequence is still working, as well as the readout of the serial number. After the boot the red led keeps flashing in a steady, I think 60bpm, pace...

Was that still happening in your case?

It sounds like this

Is happening...but I really need to find out how to diagnose this correctly

Ah i also have another board with this problem. Then Ic4 might be fried.
Can’t really help you on diagnosis, sorry.

You could try to replace that IC, or try the hack that is described in the post you quoted.

So yeah, after reading this topic again, and some discussion with a skilled person, it appears that you should not try to power the circuit with 5V if you do NOT cut of the DIN midi part... as is properly described in this post which I obviously did not read good enough before soldering :pensive:

So I'm gonna try and find out what I fried, and if it can be fixed... then powering in a different way.
