Hook object concern

#1

The hook object seems quite limited to me. You have to turn your knob to a selected position before the value changes. Isn't there a way to "hook" the object immediately after you turn the knob?
My electro harmonix memory man has the same feature and it feels much more interactive.

I think the idea with the hook knob is to make sure you dont jump values when you change pages, by forcing you to start from the point it last left off. For example 32. You have to turn the knob to 32 to activate it again.

But what you are saying it that if the knob is at 20 you want it to jump right 32. To me it sounds like you would have to rescale the dial evertime you jump to the page, cause you have new starting point value. But I dunno, maybe I am overcomplicating it or misunderstanding it

I found another way! Thanks  figured out I didnt need a hook object

What was your solution?

If it's the same problem I had you can use the TSG/ctrl/multipot 3 object.

Thanks TSG!

I wanted to switch between parameters without the parameter jumping - the hook object does this, but it also waits until you hit the same value to change again. I wanted it so it didn't jump immediately to the knob's current value when you switched, but did jump immediately as soon as the knob was changed after I'd switched... The multi pot object solved it for me. Hope that makes sense!
