Connecting a ps/2 keyboard

#1

On a recend trip to uganda I've seen someon controlling ableton with a usb computer keyboard as a foot controller. I like the Idea, it's cheap and replacable, perfect for a traveling setup!

But since my usb input is always taken by a midi controller I was wondering if it would be somehow possible to hook up an oldschool keyboard with a ps/2 connector somehow to the serial pins on the axoloti. Aparently it's possible on the arduino http://www.instructables.com/id/Connect-PS2-Keyboard-to-Arduino/ so I guess theoretically this could be adaptaed to axoloti?

It should also possible with an USB keyboard. I remember there was an usb/keyb object in early beta versions of Axoloti, but it was low on the priority list. USB Mouse works as well.

yeah!. what happened with that?, I have a numeric keypad as a puredata controller and it is awesome.. I would love to have that in axoloti too .

Think it needs some changes in the firmware to make it work. But objects like that are very low priority.

at least you even could use PS/2 librarie on an arduino, then send midi notes or program change to Axo... I also done it to create a playstation3 and wiinunchuck midi controllers... gyroscope fun!

Hello there,

What is the actual situation with this ?

Can I connect a usb computer keyboard to axoloti ? is there any receiving objects?

Thank you
