Cheap USB midi Interface.. does it even work with the Axo?

#1

Has anyone tried using one of the cheap "USB Midi Interfaces" say between a keyboard midi din out to Axoloti USB midi in, curious to know if they work or not.. ?

most likely it will work yes. those cheap midi din to usb adapters are prone to sysex errors however, some have no implementation at all, others simply choke when a bigger package is sent.

Hello everybody! (as it is the first time I write something here.)
Be very careful with these ultra-low priced interfaces.
It's my personal experience: beyond the mentioned problems, one of these "cheapo" caused a lot of audio noises.
Before trashing, I opened it and found... NO OPTOISOLATOR!
A resistor in place... no comment.

I got one of those, but dont really use it:

  1. When I received it, I needed to man handle it, cause there was some plastic residue from production sitting inside the part that you connect to the computer, so it would not connect before I dug that pastic residue out.

  2. Get a lot of stuck notes.

  3. The opto problem can be fixed: http://www.arvydas.co.uk/2013/07/cheap-usb-midi-cable-some-self-assembly-may-be-required/

Not really recommended to be honest.

i got one an m-audio uno usb instead, it works with no issues. It is a bit more expensive, but atleast it works.
