Can I connect 5V supply direct to the Axo?

I have an excellent 5V 1amp power supply I want to connect to the Axo directly.
Is there a way of connecting it without making an adaptor to use the USB Micro input ?

That's what the DC connector on the side is for.

But isn't there a 5V voltage regulator between the DC connector and everything else? Voltage regulators require a higher voltage than what they're regulating to. My Shruthi runs on 5V internally, but the voltage regulator requires at least 6.5V to run.

So if the power supply that Gavin is talking about puts out a regulated 5V then you would indeed want to put it in at the point where the USB power joins. I'm not sure about it but you might be able to connect it at a 5V point on the empty solder pads.
