Breaking the board?

Maybe its a silly question, but is it possible to "break" to board into two pieces?
Main board, and "MIDI/Power" board.

Did this somebody?
Is it safe?

I've found a really nice little tabletop box for this, and I would like to use it, but I'm not sure that its big enough
