Axoloti UI won't output sound?

#1

Would anybody happen to know about this issue? I think it's my computer's fault but it still makes using the Axoloti impossible to do.

When trying to make a simple synth, it will not generate a sin wave - and I believe my computer is incapable of doing this operation. It's a Macbook Pro from 2013. Yet even with Max MSP it cannot make synths - only handle pure MIDI data. For some reason, the very same patches work just fine on any other computer with Max.

I believe these two issues come from the same source that is plaguing my computer. If anybody has any leads or clues onto resolving this - so I could get back to learning how to patch on the Axoloti - I would much appreciate it. Thanks!

All sound will come from the Axoloti Core board, not from your computer's (or soundcard) audio plugs.
Axoloti Core's audio performance is also independent of your computer's performance.
The Axoloti UI itself is not capable of generating any sound.

Hmm, but when I tried it my headphones were plugged into the Axoloti Core board and the patcher was set to "Live."

First check with a very simple patch, like found in the menu
File->Library->Tutorials->01_sine_oscillator ?

That's what I'm using, actually. My Axoloti arrived in the mail today and I wanted to test it out with a simple patch until I ran into this.

Problem solved -- thanks Johannes!

Out of interest, what was the problem?
