Dear, I feel very tempted to start my own Axoliti adventure.
However, looking at all the topics on this forum, I'm missing clarity to make an easy start.
I would like to organize (or help to organize) a workshop for starters.
I was thinking of a 1 day workshop for max 10 people, €100 including an Axoloti (€65).
This would make it possible to fund venue, drinks, sandwich lunch, somebody with teaching/coaching skills, promotion for €350.
Timing/place: Opwijk, July 2017.
Anybody interested?
Cheers,
Jan
AXOLOTI Starters Workshop
I've been planning to teach workshops based on my Axoloti book, so I could probably do one this summer. The price of €100 might be a little low if you want to include an Axoloti core board, since the €65 price is without VAT / Shipping.
I find the idea great. I think two days would probably be better to get into it, between hardware and software. And we are talking about modular time (for those who know about that time scale
I was wondering in what language you where hoping to do the workshop in ?
I was thinking about organizing something of the kind, next year some time, around where I live (South West France), but it would have to be done in french, and I don't think I could hope to have 10 people. And I would probably try to include in the price a few hardware parts (pots and buttons) (so probably a bit more expensive, it needs to be worked out)...
Anyway, I hope you find someone for your workshop and make it happen, it's great to see the axoloti community getting bigger, and initiatives like this (as well as @janvantomme 's book) is very useful to help people in the first few steps (they may need help getting out of it afterwards, because it's very addictive).
True, janvantomme! I did not check VAT and shipping: €92 in total for Belgium. So €125 would make more sense.
Practical: I have very good connections with music club Nijdrop (currently called Nosta), and they could program it as an activity, with the advantage of making buzz about it. Pls contact me via addictive.noise.lab AT gmail.com so we can have a phone call. Cheers, Jan
Hi mytas, I'm thinking about central belgium/dutch, and on a short term. Ideally, we find a formula that can be rolled out everywhere! Cheers, Jan
I'm planning to offer workshops in English when abroad, or in Dutch when it's in Belgium.
saturday Oct 21st, there's an Axoloti beginners workshop at Nosta in Opwijk by janvantomme: https://www.nostamusic.be/agenda/workshop-bouw-eigen-synthesizer/
€125 including axoloti & electronic course material
Belgium - AXOLITY starters workshop
On saturday oct 21, there's a starters workshop in jeugdhuis Nijdrop Opwijk, organized by music club NOSTA.
€125 including Axoloti board, e-course and 1 day workshop.
Hey jan
I'm interested in a workshop but i'm afraid i won't learn anything new.
I allready know how to build a synth and sample player but nothing about fx.
What will you be teaching on saturday?
It would'nt be nice to spend a whole day and not learn anything new , especially because i have a 2 months year old kid so free time is hard to get
Thanks
I'll be mostly teaching the basics. But there is some room in the afternoon to build personal things. There's a chapter dedicated to fx in my book, which you'll get for free when attending the workshop.
Hey , well i have allready made a 60% operational sequencer/sample player/synth so the basics will teach me nothing unfortunately .
Hopefully you will be doing a following more advanced workshop?
Right now i'm really interested in someone who can help me in person to give me some tips on my project to speed things up , software and hardware side.
I don't know anybody in my neighbourhood that does programming or electronics and finding everything on the internet is a real hassle.
This is my project by the way.....
For now just 5 sample players with amp envelope , pitch, lp filter with envelope and a basic synth to play the melody + a 16 step sequencer with just on/off triggers to the sample players and synth.
Also main volume and sequencer swing.
