Axoloti says exeption: soft watchdog

Axoloti says exeption: soft watchdog

any ideas what this means? I'm getting disconnects while running midi to and from the usb device.

The watchdog is a hardware subsystem on the microcontroller that resets the microcontroller if it does not get "fed" in time (periodically). The audio handling routine feeds the watchdog.
Are you using the latest release or compiled firmware from git? Is it dependent on the complexity of the patch running?

1.0.6

It seems to be related to Ableton Live. I'm sending midi notes from Live on midi channel 2 and Axoloti is sending back notes on channel 1.
I've had it happen in various patches doing this.

Could it be a midi loop? Perhaps Ableton is re-transmitting the incoming midi to channel 2?
Could you isolate the two parts to identify the root cause: receiving midi from ableton, and sending midi to Ableton?

#5

make sure the midi track in ableton which is set to send on channel 2 to axoloti, has the midi set to no input (or set it specifically to what you will be using for its input (like a midi keyboard) not all ins and all channels which is default) otherwise you will get a midi loop which will cause crashes.

i've done that and so far, so good.

What puzzles me is that with "all ins" selected and the channel set to "auto" it should only let midi through if the channel is armed right?

it just happened again:
