Im looking for a way to connect ILDA laser with axoloti. Any idea? Actually i use a etherdream card to controlled.
Axoloti ILDA laser
giving the fact that you can do nice vector graphics with Axoloti, I guess the easy path is just to purchase an Analog to Ilda Eurorack module and you are good to go.
I was checking out the ilda connector & protocol and seems to be a pretty complex task to send ilda directly from Axoloti & definitely not without making additional hardware to amplify signals..
LZX Cyclops will do this with galvonometer protection. It's also pretty easy to DIY an ILDA to 3.5mm connector (the pin diagram of an ILDA connector can be found quickly with a google search). Once you have an adapter rigged up, you can amplify the signal with any regular audio amplifier. The issue with this method is that the galvos can be overdriven and cooked. With all the mathematicians on here though, somebody might be able to code a protection object. Lowpass filter might even just do it.
Here is a nice guide for a DIY ILDA adapter by Ted Davis https://github.com/ffd8/dac_ilda
For the x y inputs, the stereo out of the Axoloti is ok if you amplify it. I use an amplified PA4 / PA5 output for brightness modulation.
we are also working currenlty on this. see discussion over here:
a first prototype seems to work fine. now working on a more broader use breakout to do it.
