Axocontrol Enclosure

controllers

#1

Hi,

I modded the case designed by @janvantomme to include the AXOCONTROL board.

Boards 1&2 needs to be cut on 3mm material and board 3 on 1.6mm material.

I used 3 mm Acrylic GS and 1.6 mm Acrylic Two Color at FORMULOR.de in Germany.
It should cost around 40€+extra shipping via this company.

New Corrected EPS Illustrator files, as on the precedent ones, the PS1 style pad hole was a bit too much to the center of the unit and the two lower back screw were touching the 40 pin connector.

Hi,
I'm be interested in one of your spare PCBs.
How much do you want for one, posted to UK?

Thanks - Steve

Oh that enclosure is very nice (Reminds me of the Microgranny)

Thanks for posting this.

For the button I used this model
https://www.mouser.fr/datasheet/2/15/SKQE-1370759.pdf
switch model SKQEACA010 and caps model SK2AA00090 (dark version with clear top) by ALPS.
you can see it on this picture.
when fitted with the enclosure they come just to the edge of the top case.

Anyone planning to make and sell an enclosure?

Good quality silk-screened PCB, well packed.
Thanks!

@krikor I’m looking into possibly getting one of these laser cut. What are those metallic looking clamps you seem to be using above the I/Os? Also any more photos from other angles?

#12

It is just a reflection as some of the material I selected for the laser cut is a bit transparent.
I will try to post some more pictures later.

Hi all,
If you are thinking of making a case like the one shown,
@Krikor and you find it hard to find a place to be cut,
I have a Laser cutter, (in fact I sell acrylic enclosures for Axoloti, on eBay and Amazon  ) ...
Now I'm waiting to receive an Axoloticontrol plate, which I kindly bought from Krikor, to create a new synth that I want to make ...
Also if you have some other design in DXF or SVG, you can send it to me to estimate the cost of cutting and shipping.
Thank's

alright good to know @killor

I'm gonna make a few mods to the enclosure file. the two screws on the back of the unit touch the 40 pin connector (no problem but it is not well aligned). Also the hole for the XY controller is a bit to the right up, I need to move it to the left down or just enlarge it a bit.

#17

Did you ever make these adjustments?

#18

I gotta double check, but it should be good.
I won't have time until this weekend.
I'm gonna replace the file when done, I will indicate it.

#19

I uploaded the new ones!
cheers

Thank you so much for sharing this! I've just put it together, but I think I'm missing something to lock things in place, namely something which uses the middle holes and the cross shaped cuts. I'm completely new to diy, could you please tell me what to use with these?

#21

Hi, can you upload a picture?

#22

I'm using all the default parts that came with the AxoControl - as you can see the buttons are sunk in, but I can live with that

Thank you!
