Anyone selling their unused core?

#19

ooOOOOoooo !!!:open_mouth::grinning:

#20

Thanks a lot for your informations.

Just a quick question, do you know how many units are produced in every new batch ? it's more like 20 units or 200 units ?

#21

i would assume somewhere in between those numbers, but yeah it would be very interesting to hear it from the horses mouth. like even, how many overall users/sold units are there by now?

#22

:joy: pretty sure it's gonna be way more than 20!!!

#23

haha nice, but less than 200 ?
I don't have any idea about the "supply & demand", but I have the idea that in 1 day 200 units can be sold easily... maybe I'm wrong. This summer was a loooong wait for the next batch, I've watched the stock every day. I'm afraid about loosing my turn in one hour and have to wait again 3 months.

I was secretly asking this with the hope that you'll answer me "more than 2 billion of brand new axolotis my friend !" :upside_down_face:

#24

Haha, I would love to see a couple billion too! But I think it's 500 or something like that.
There were a lot of boxes and the production run was fine.
It was pretty exciting to see so many Core's together.
So will be any day now!!!

#25

Andrew, I love you...

#26

Keep in mind that my new design will be a vast improvement over the existing core: 4x sdram and processing power among other improvements for the same price (https://sebiik.github.io/community.axoloti.com.backup/t/next-gen-and-mini-axoloti-hardware-discussion/5908/102).

#27

Vast improvement, maybe, unless you wanted the things missing from your new shrunk/simplified version.

This is an interesting time.

Regarding Johannes’ new production run...
I think if I was building a run of 500, or even 200, I’d be using the H7, even if the design remains unchanged otherwise. I’d certainly have done some work to see how easily H7 drops in.

#28

Really the only things missing are full MIDI DIN and 1/4th jacks. Both are easily added if you need them. The old core DIN and power section is directly compatible as well.

#29

urklang my friend, I'm looking every day at you thread to understand exactly what your plan is.

Keep in mind the original design actually is perfect for most of us, because even if you can do a stronger engine than the original one, the possibility of the axoloti core is still so deep, with still so much possibility, so much thing to do with it.

I agree with many things already told in your thread especially about sample things. I will probably test your version because it's an interesting things.

But to be honest, I have so many things to do with the original project. Johannes oppenned many doors, you probably want to have an automatic door or an elevator something like that, but for me, the original axoloti core is exactly the perfect thing that I've always dream about. Because of this I want to support Johannes. He did an open source project, so he probably know that what you do will happened. Even probably he will be happy. But he is working on an axoloti core 2.0 and we all know it. I don't need a boosted version of the axoloti for my project, I want to support him so I will buy his original version.

Don't forget the fact that if you can do what you plan to, is thanks to him. So, don't be afraid, we are looking for yours version too. You don't have to go in the other thread to advertise about your plan and make publicity about it.

I have nothing but respect and admiration for what Johannes has done. I understand the desire to support him. But at a certain point the community needs to move forward. We can't just wait for a single person to take care of everything for us. It's clear that development has stalled. I think we can do better. All I'm trying to do is move the technology forward to the next level, not take credit for what has been done so far. If what's been done so far suits your needs, that's great! I think we can have an ecosystem of compatible DSP boards, more like how there are many Arduino-compatible boards of different levels of performance, etc.

#31

I will support you like I support Johannes, I like what you wanna do, probably if nobody like you existed, every project ever made will be stuck into his basic state. And it's bad.
I'm not blaming you. Don't take it personnaly.
But I think we saw your project, we are beside you with respect, exactly as we are beside johannes.

What I just wanted to say, again with respect, is that you don't need to say to people still want the original core, that you are building a boosted version and they have to wait or don't forget it. Your thread is all day on the top of this forum. we all saw it. Don't be afraid you'll get support

#32

The stock is back! Ordered mine already. Thanks to everyone for moral (and not only) support in this thread, it's an awesome community here by the looks of it

#33

Went directly to the ordering page before coming and check here the posts . Just in case.... and..; ooOOO surprise!... Sooo... done
I feel lucky that I had only to wait for 3 weeks only between the time I posted here to know if my project could be easily realized with the board, Andrew's answer and infos, then this new stock made available  Great great great!

#34

Woah?!! Already out of stock?!!! this is... crazy....

#35

Huh, it is out of stock, that was fast. It just shows that people want it

#36

no worries, @johannes puts up only 100 or so boards and will put the next 100 up quickly. it was like this for the last couple of times

#37

Indeed. Boards are tested by hand when they arrive from the factory to make sure you get a good product, and that process takes some time.

#38

Yeah stock is updated frequently and according to what andrew about the total abount of this batch, said they should go in/out of stock regularly over the next couple weeks. No need to panic just yet..
