Adding a midi channel selector 1 to 16 (+omni?) in the right click > Midi CC selection box

Hi!
(apologies, I could be missing a simple feature here?)

Is it possible to add a midi channel selector 1 to 16 (+omni?) in the right click > Midi CC selection box?

It would be very useful!

I use an Arturia Beatstep, 16 knob, 16 pad controller. The 16 knobs output midi CC's, which are assignable (but with a default #cc layout). Pressing Channel + Pad 1 to 16 changes the Midi Channel the notes & #CC's transmitted on. So its easy to work with 16x16#CC's, channel 1 to 16. giving more controls. It works like paged controls, allowing me to have all similar controls mapped per page.

I also use an akai MPC that transmits Midi CC, but it it best left on Channel 1, When making complex patches, it would be great to be able to specify the midi channel when assigning a CC to a knob so i can easily assign CC's on one channel to one control surface, or one "page"/channel on the beatstep.

I have tried many ways to acheive this, I built a sub-patch to receive 16 CC's and set the midi channel on the subpatch, then output into the main patch, per midi channel, but then you lose the visual feedback on the knobs (they move when directly mapped via the gui) - and, they respond differently (on endless rotary encoders, under usual, right click - CC mapping, they work in pickup - they move from the current position, the way i have it with the sub patch they jump to the current/last value)

or - is there a better way to do this?

thanks for any suggestions and help.

Daniel
(ps, i'm sorry if this isn't very clear, i'm finding it hard to explain)

This would be useful for both my K-Mix sending through DIN and Novation Circuit sending through USB or DIN.

To clarify:
The Novation Circuit has fixed MIDI Channels - Macro Knobs send on channels 1,2,10 etc...
K-Mix allows you to select MIDI channels but it needs an exclusive channel for each of the three MIDI pages.

What this means:
Given that each Axoloti patch receives CC on a single MIDI channel only it limits the amount of MIDI control available per patch.

What would be better:
Being able to select MIDI channel 1-16 and Omni in the CC Modulation window for the controls on each module.

Anyone know where we are at with this. We definitely need to be able to change the MIDI Channel as well as the CC right in the right click drop down per control. I'm trying to use my Axoloti with a MIDI Fighter Twister, and some features of the device require this kind of control.

I never received a reply

It seems a pretty basic function, it'd massively improve the user experience.

to be able to duplicate an object in a patch and just change the channel response on its midi/cc would make building drum synths/ multitimbral instruments etc very easy.

Im unsure how we could make a more formal request for the feature

Have you had a good look at the available midi in objects, there are several that output channel, cc, value, etc.. then it is just a matter of redirecting the values depending on the channel, or maybe some other method you could think to apply. If you want to use the built in assign a cc value to a parameter, then this is not an available feature.

i know it's not an available feature, I think it should be though.
being able to choose Channel > cc, in the quick select/dropdown/built in would massively increase functionality/ease/speed of use

Has this been fixed yet?

hasn't been fixed.

I usually do my multilayer stuff in the patching itself. So with the Twister for example I leave it on the same channel, and use the side buttons to switch layer in the patch. You can do this very nicely in Rbrt's objects.

I have to add that I completely abandoned using knobs in the patcher, for feedback I use either disp or my midi controller, since for me patching means kind of engineering the patch and when I play I usually do so completely without computer.
