TL;DR I have no idea what I'm doing.
I bought a pack of 50KOhm potentiometers off of EBay, and I'm trying to hook them up. Right now I've got pin 1 to the GND next to VDDA, pin 2 to VDDA, and pin 3 to PB1 using bell wire (no soldering yet). When I look at the help patch for gpio/in/analog, the display for PB1 maxes out when I've only rotated about 15 degrees on the pot. The other displays (which to my understanding leech off of other readings if they're not connecting) show more of the range of the pot. Also, I smell something burning. Could it be that my connections are not tight enough? Is the resistance wrong? Was I accidentally shorting VDDA and GND? I really don't want to fry my board, so I'm going to wait for somebody who knows what they're doing.
50Kohm potentiometer too sensitive (not travelling full range), burning smell

Make that:
pin 1 : GND
pin 2 (middle) : PB1
pin 3 : VDDA
The smell is from the potentiometer and is probably damaged
Axoloti Core is not fried.
