It looks like an interesting candidate for an upgrade, yes, but Christmas is far from a realistic target. There is often a significant time difference between such announcement and availability. Production is only announced for Q2-2017. The announced preview does not include the UFBGA package. Even after I can find available stock, it will take time to implement and validate this. I do recall one unexpected issue that appeared when upgrading prototypes from the STM32F40x to STM32F42x that took me weeks to figure out...

heh heh I didn't mean to be specific about the Christmas timeline :slight_smile: I already think Axoloti is an incredible value... A value which comes from the integration of the whole system including the GUI, the libraries and the circuit board, not just the CPU power. But......now that there's a foreseeable path to >2x the CPU power, the duration of the value just got better.

I'm also glad that I don't have to leave the Cortex family for the PIC32MZ. Debug/development is so much better on ST parts.
