Using a rotary switch to flip through waveforms

#1

I bought a nifty little rotary switch and hooked it up to the digital pins of my axoloti and managed to get some results (I can light up these logic objects by twisting the knob left and right just fine.)

I would like to be able to flip through the waveforms included in this object

No idea how to do it though. I thought this would work but no luck...

Anyone out there know how to do this?

Ah, I've been through the same problem, I remember making a very complicated sub-patch to resolve the problem, but then I found a few objects that do the same job. Tonight the only one I seem to find in the community library, is the tiar/logic/BCDEncoder (but I'm sure there are others). It transforms 1 to 8 binary inputs to a integer (from 0 to 7) that you can then feed into your wave selector.

try my triggerindex4 object. (lokki/triggerindex4)

#4

looks exactly like the solution to my problem but somethings not working...

#5

it looks like the wave inlet does not work with numbers between 1 and 4. if you connect the dial to the wave inlet the wave changes more or less every 15 increments.

#6

ahhhh thanks! ill give that a shot today

#7

Did you manage to make it work?
Struggling with this...

Crap, i completely forget lol (this was a while ago)
Im making some new boards to mount pots and switches on in eagle though and am planning on adding this to it so Ill have to get it to work eventually lol I will post it when i figured it out!
