Subpatches: patch inlets vs. input objects in the sub patch

#1

Hey friends,
wondering what the best method is to control poly subpatch parameters via CC or NRPN. would i rather have the midi input in the subpatch, or have it in the main patch and route to the subpatch via an inlet? whats the benefits of each version?

If you have the midi stuff in the polyphonic subpatch and you set it to 7 voices you use 7 of every midi objects that you use.

If you have them outside nd route inside via inlet, it uses less cpu/memory.

But to be honest not sure what would be the best functional wise but cpu/memory wise having it outside is the best solution.

Yeah thanks those were exactly the thoughts i was having.. but i also vaguely remember reading that subpatch i/o as well as parameter remote control via the patcher object cc mapping is quite heavy on resources?
