SD card and sensel morph

#11

I've ordered a slightly quicker sdhc I'll try...

#12

Could it be something to do with the filename? I'm not familiar with 8.3 but I'm pretty certain I didn't save the patch to the card in 8.3.

#13

Steps forward...

I've got it loading a patch and keeping the morph connected - I can now load a patch in flash and change it by enterring the card. Next step is patch changng, which I've begun but so far failed - as a start point Im trying to use the buttons on the axo to switch patches... more trying/searching later...

#14

I should have also asked about what version of Axoloti firmaware/Axoloti patcher you're using?

#15

Good question... a very old one it seems!

#16

no worries... Im on "old" one as well, I did try 2.0... not there yet.

#17

Updating now, or at least trying to - nothing seems particularly easy in axoloti. Its a great device but getting it where you want is more a PITA than I'm used to or expected.

#18

you don't have to

takes some getting used to; but this forum and users can help.
This post is getting long but maybe it's just a case of some planning ahead:
* patch change
* what "produces" the change
* if using USB MIDI - patches have to address this

Just a few ideas from top of my head...

At this point I'm not sure I have the right firmware in my axoloti core? It's showing as:
Authentic Axoloti Core
Firmware version: 1.0.0.1
Software wise I'm: Axoloti version : 1.0.12-2-0-g7975cc87 build time : 29/11/2018 14:38:54 CET
I'm perhaps wrongly assuming the versions should match?

Meanwhile I can change patches and presets, but am yet to figure out controller objects. I've things to try but I'm partway down a frustrating rabbit hole... it's quite the hackaround. I assumed it was my rubbish computer skills but am reassured by someone who has the skills that for the most part it's not elegant.

#20

OK, so I think I have the right firmware, back to it...

#21

sorry had to leave..
yeah, all good, Im on the same firmware/Axoloti Patcher (editor)

ohh plenty of posts/info around...
This might help?

#22

Thanks that's helpful - I think the problem I have is that can't seem to get a controller object to run on a blank patch. I've added a directory:
local controllers C:\Users\Andy\Documents\axoloti\objects\
checked the enable controllers and saved a test file that runs when I make it live in normal use, but nothing.

I've got a friend on the case so hopefully he cracks it...

#23

??? why this?
The so called "controller object" is just a patch with the patch change mechanism...(and its directory) if this makes sense to you.

#24

this is my patch = patchchangeall.axs
allows MIDI program change and use of the two tiny buttons on Axoloti itself
this file/patch "reside" similar to your C:\Users\Andy\Documents\axoloti\objects\

correction: dir should be: C:\Users\Andy\Documents\axoloti\objects\controllers

#25

....then in Preferences add this: (don't use the file extesion .axs)

#26

Thanks for the help.

The blank patch was just to see if the test patch I made was compiled into it - wasnt though. I'll try with that extension...

#27

A quick question - does my axoloti core firmware look right to you?

#28

Yes, your software and firmware are the best stable versions.
Here's what I see on startup:
Axoloti version : 1.0.12-2-0-g7975cc87 build time : 09/04/2018 13:15:31 GMT
Link to firmware CRC E95BAC96
Status: factory (1.0.12,anon) : OK ( 1.0.12,clean )
Status : home : OK
Status: community (1.0.12,anon) : OK ( 1.0.12,clean )

Update time...

I used keyman's patch in both versions of the MPE patches - I have patch loading from sd, buttons switching between two patches and he morph playing nicely, hurrah!

Today's job is to add in a preset select patch a friend passed on, and then get the patch select into a controller object - currently its not loading the file path though I've been given a clue as to why (file extension apparantly - its not recognising the ones given here as it should do, but seems it might if I remove the users\andy\axoloti part).

Ultimately though I'm where I wanted to be and now I'm trying to get set up a little better so I can take things further... Thanks for all the help folks!

Slight error in post above: removing 'objects' from the file path worked for my friend.

It isnt working for me though - can't seem to get loading controller objects working at all, despite apparantly pointing it in the right place i get:

Using controller object: controllers\changepatch
Unable to created controller for : controllers\changepatch
