Question: Using patches in a live setting

#1

Hi, If I had 4 micro SD cards, each with a different patch saved on it, would I then be able to switch between the SD cards in a live setting, without needing my laptop?
I want to use my Electro Harmonix 45000 loop pedal to capture a few minutes of sound, then to overlay a new sound....
It's not cheap, but having multiple Micro SD cards would be preferable to carrying my laptop to every gig. Thanks!

with one sd card it's enough, you can switch patches using a midi controller or from the buttons integrated in the axoloti. certainly, swapping sdcards with different startup patches it's gonna save you some patching time configuring the patch load object but if you have some time, maybe its worth trying

Thanks servandisco. Am still reading different posts about this. Do you mean that any midi controller could potentially do this? I am using an Arturia Keystep - the sequencer function works so well with the axoloti! No idea how to use that to change patches though....

check in the browser, there are three kinds of patch/load. if beatstep sends program change message, you have part of the work done, if not, you will have to find your way..

#5

Ok. Thanks again @servandisco

What's the changeover time with loading new patches? Is it pretty snappy, or does it take some seconds?

#7

I would say less than 1 second.
