Possibiltiy of creating an auto-wah

#1

Hello everybody,

First of I admit I need to work more with the software, I've tried playing with a few patches with cool results though.
My first interest is processing audio with the axoloti and thought I would try making an auto-wah but quickly got lost in how to do this.
With the current set of building blocks is this possible, and if so, how would I go about it, is it possible to set up a parameter to be controlled by audio amplitude?

Thanks,
Robert

can be done with env/follower to control the cut-off frequency of a filter
I'd say, also place an envelope generator (e.g. env/adsr) in-between

Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a go tonight!

autowah.axp (4.3 KB)

Thanks for the kick in the right direction, I actually managed to build something resembling an autowah smile
Quite fun to play with but it needs tweaks to be really usable.

sure, looks like that might work.
My idea with the envelope generator was something to this effect:

That looks clean, I'll give it a go later.

It was a very organic trial and error process that had me end up in the patch I posted. I had trouble getting the wah to behave similar for different strings, hence the compressor, and also trying to use the resonance of the filter required some taming. I briefly tried adding an adsr but ended up without it.
I'm quite new to this way of thinking about the signal chain so there's a lot of exploring, very fun.

Without knowing the env/follower, I came up with this autowah patch. I use the rectifier and the smooth modules as an envelope follower. The rest is used to create a bigger sweep.
