Need help for a 3 touch plate keyboard

#1

Hi all. I'm trying to create an internal monophonic keyboard with only 3 touch plate comes into 3 separately digital input.
To do exactly the same as a Buchla music easel on this picture :

But only with 3 touch plate. The potentiometers on top are tuning the oscillator, so when you touch another plate, the tuning change. I don't need a gate because I don't want to apply it on an ADSR, it's only for tuning a pitch of one of my oscillators.

My problem is that :
My oscillator have only one pitch input. So the best way to send him the 3 pitchs of the plates, is to pass them trough a k-rate mixer BUT, when I do that, all the 3 notes add up. I'm trying to find a way for closing the 2 other pitch on the k-rate mixer when I press one note. But it's too hard for me...

Is that clear ? Is anybody can help me ? :frowning:

I did this, it's working but now when I move the dial(for moving the pitch) it's not live I have to play again the button for actualize the new pitch...

#3

again logic change is your friend

#4

@philoop, I was hoping you'll come !

But I'm sorry I don't understand what you've done right there...
Is supposed to open the mux when I turn the dial I think I got it, but how should I use this with my button (acting as a touch plate on this patch) ?
I'm confused...

then latch is your friend

#6

Haha yes I got it but when I do this and patch it to my pitch oscilator, I turn the dial, nothing change, it change only if I press the button after this.

What I want in fact is this :
3 buttons doing monophony
3 pitchs apply to each buttons
possibility to move the pitch in live even if the button i've pressed is not pressed continuously.

That's the deal... Hard deal...

like that?

#8

Yes, this is exatcly what I'm trying to do. A bit more like that :

But now I have a new difficult problem, normally on a buchla, when you press a touch plate a led stay red on it and you can pitch the other one without disturbing directly the one who's working. I mean, when I press a button, I would like only the pitch of this button can play live, but the other not, or only if I press them. You got it ?

I think I'll be okay with my first patch like that and give up the idea of pitching in "live"... :

Anyway, every problem find a solution, and on this forum, most of them are solvered by your help...
Huge thanks to you @philoop

#9

if you say without disturbing the other, do you mean it is polyphonic then? as in more then one note sounds at a time? the patch would have to look a bit different then...

#10

@lokki no, I said it I don't want it to be polyphonic, that's not my point...

Look at this :

The touch plates I'm trying to reproduce is on the top right of the keyboard, the four little metal rectangle, the 4 poti at this place are the pitch of each touch plates. Do you see when he play a note on this four touch plate, a red led start to lights ? It means this plate is working on the pitch of the oscillators. She is like sustained. So he can act to the pitch of this one to tune the oscillators, but the 3 other poti can't change anything because they are not active.

This is my difficult on my patch... I want to have a monophonic keyboard with only 3 key, wich I can choose the tune of the monophonic key I'm playing.

It's hard to explain it but because of my not quite good English (I'm a French frog...)

But to be honest it's not a really important problem, I'm okay with my patch, I was asking if somebody find a way to do it, but if it's not, that's alright

#11

Maybe this?

#12

Yes. You find exactly what I'm looking for. Great job my friend @tele_player.

But, because there is always a but, with this patch I have a next problem. I will solder to my axoloti core 3 touch plates, so I need to activate each touch plates on a patch with 3 different midi CC assignment. The object "radio 4h" allows me only to change it with one midi CC, not to choose wich one I want separately. You see ?

I think I've find a complex problem with this project.. hahaha sorry :upside_down_face:

#13

Ok now I'm done !!!

This work perfectly as I wanted :

Thanks a lot to you @tele_player !!! So much.

#14

radio_switch_4 is perfect!

Yess. Too many objects I don't know yet, this is why this community is so great.
