I did receive my two last orders during this summer, so I am hopeful that manufacturing will continue after the crisis (if it ever ends).
It really is the most flexible audio tool I ever owned, I love it so much.

A collaboration with Sparkfun, Adafruit or another "Makers Generation / DiY" company would be reassuring.
Oof! It would be such a let-down, if the Axoloti is getting abandoned and slowly fade from relevance. There's so many possibilities this thing has. But a striving community is what's keeping me engaged first and foremost in using it. Seeing no new updates about the Axoloi and not that much activity in the forum or anywhere already made me kind of turn away from the Axoloti and only plugging it back in occassionally.
So yeah, I really hope there's gonna be some news soon and some sort of Axo-resurrection.
Have a good start into the new year all!
Looking forward to any updates and posts here!
I've begun seeing people selling off overstock of components (FPGAs, actually) that were greatly delayed and had finally arrived, after the manufacturer had already switched their supplier/FPGA model used in the design.
that might not mean anything but I take it optimistically as the first gasp in a hopefully recovering semiconductor supply chain.
To echo a few others here, I really am rooting for a revival or continuation of the axoloti in some form (if only spiritually). This little board was the beginning of my journey in synth diy, programming, electronics, and I haven't stopped since the day it arrived.
I hope too.
At a moment, before the crisis, the FPGA market has been distorted because of some FPGA being used for cryptocurrency datamining.
Hope this is not related to this phenomenon but to a global resolution of the crisis.
I can confirm I've seen the new axoloti prototype (not the akso, the one @AndrewChi is talking about) in real life a couple of months ago and spoke with Johannes about the future of it all...including the flaws in akso (numerous once you start working with the platform...) and how to avoid those in axoloti v2 ...
Given the supply chain situation, it is unwise to make any promise on delivery dates. That being said... an update, a teaser, a public announcement of any kind would be nice...I agree
probably Johannes wants to Avoid the "osborne effect" & / or people asking When / What / etc..
I don't know when it will happen but I'm pretty optimistic that when Johannes Will release the update, it is going to be amazing & a Game changer (one more time...).
For What I have seen, Johannes doesn't like to tease things that He is working on, even when they are "almost ready to release"..
Happy Patching!
S
same.
Axo is the only platform that allows me coding in C without real C knowledge (and it works!)
luckily, these days we have RK-006, so one Axo can do MIDI processor jobs for the whole rig — and i have a spare one.
anyway, can't wait to see Axo Core back in stock.
Hope we will have some news someday.
The Axoloti is such a great device/environment.
It would be great to make it a learning platform for youngsters interested in audio and synthesis.
A v2 seems a bit unlikely at the moment. But as the software is open source, aren't the PCB CAD files someone already asked for the only thing missing for people to take production (and maybe even further developement) into their own hands?
That seems a bit unfair tbh.
Anyway
More than a year since I first posted this and nothing new in the horizon.
Maybe time to sell my axoloti before compatibility breaks and becomes a brick
I don't know about unfair, but it's very unfortunate. There is nothing like Axoloti.
However, if you aren't absolutely set on using hardware, Audulus 4 is the most amazing graphical synth builder ever created.
I meant the pcb sharing statement. Sure it would be cool but not fair the the creator maybe.
Audulus is interesting but not my cup of tea. Check BespokeSynth if you like audulus
Well I wasn't thinking about doing this without Johannes' approval, obviously someone would have to contact him anyway to get access to these files.
That's what should be prevented. I'd be fine with Axoloti staying the way it is (well, was before 2.0 firmware) - as long as boards are availabe and the community libraries stay intact it's fine as it is.
Is it even possible to add new objects to the library at the moment? I noticed there were some requests in the contributor access thread that may not have been answered?

Good luck with that, you might need to hire a private detective. There is no trace of him after 2019 anywhere. Only rumours
I don't actually know anything about producing boards . I just thought that these files contain everything needed for someone proficient to get the Axoloti core back into production. It's great to see you took the effort to design a new board, hope it'll help keep the project alive!
Agreed. I'd love to see the PCB layout because Johannes seemed to really know what's he was doing.
On the other hand it has been almost a decade now since the initial design and parts availability and configurations change. Not to mention the chip shortage.
For example if you were to redo the hardware you probably want to use a USB type C connector (like the Akso did) and not the flimsy micro USB.
